Kitchen of the week: A design led Fit Space for family life - When Jane Powell, kitchen designer at the Roundhouse, on the creation of this food for Phoebe and Nick Bryans and their family, memory was well thought out. Phoebe had a clear vision of what she wanted, which was design-head with a slightly industrial feel, using stainless steel and bricks, said Jane. The finished room is a beautiful lesson in contemporary design, but it has a wonderfully relaxed, sociable feel. "We used an open and closed storage combination," said Jane, 'and a mix of textures, stainless steel timber, for this industrial atmosphere.

The space successfully combines traditional and contemporary elements with a hint of midcentury style.

Andrea is not afraid to experiment when it comes to design, Siobhan said, 'and the finished room is such a wonderfully eclectic and welcoming space, perfect for entertaining family and friends, and kicking back and watching TV.
