"The owners wanted a convenient storage of all," says designer Keith Fennelly this kitchen redesign. "They do not have a particular look in mind, it was more on functionality."
There are certainly aplenty cabinets in this space craft. However, the finished design also features a warm, timeless look that is as inviting as practical. Modern touches, such as metal pendants, meanwhile, help maintain firmly into the 21st century.

the needs of a busy extended family were welcoming design center of the kitchen, with a warm wooden palette, soft gray and off-white. Key is the sleek, extra-long island that doubles as a small bar - now the epicenter of family life.
"They are a very close family and everyone sits around the island the night," said Fennelly. "It is also where all the food is prepared, so it was important to have plenty of worktop space and convenient storage."

The existing dark kitchen was ousted to make way for a new new layout, Fennelly said. Fitting in this island mega meant demolishing a wall to create more space and light.
Woodale was consulted before the owners reconfigured the space, which previously included a laundry. "The biggest challenge was to help visualize their home without it," says Fennelly.
The kitchen was originally 2m shorter, with the laundry room located where the Aga is now Fennelly said. "the wall for this purpose meant that I could not fit the length of the island I needed for a family and grandchildren. As the house is large, with another laundry room upstairs, I suggested moving up there.
"The owners have jumped at the idea when they saw the design, immediately hired a builder and obtained the advice of a structural engineer to help remove the wall."

There is a good reason for the distinctive shape of the breakfast bar, outside the comfort and character. "The transition from kitchen narrows on that side, with three steps leading to a television room. This design meant that I could create greater bridge," Fennelly said.

We would like to encourage customers to use them also for food storage, plates and bowls and not limit a drawer to a particular thing. "

The kitchen is a nice bright space now, but before, said Fennelly, "It was actually quite dark. Increasing the width of the windows or heights is not an option, so we added more lighting. "

If you space, a spacious pantry closet is a must, says Fennelly. It shows beautifully how the doors can easily hide items that often clutter the kitchen, such as toasters and coffee makers.
"We designed it in a way that acted as a work center for the kitchen. By closing the door, the family worktops clutter.
